Risk-Based Safety - Factory Safety Self-Assessment Tool©

This assessment is designed to give factory owners and managers an overview of the arrangements they have in place to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

It is intended to be helpful—a means of evaluating policies, systems, and practices to identify any shortcomings, allowing for the creation of action plans to drive continual improvement.

While this tool is useful for assessing safety measures, it also provides evidence to relevant authorities that a thorough evaluation has been conducted to ensure safety procedures are in place.

You may find it useful to have the assessment reviewed by an independent assessor who can either sign off on your work or suggest improvements.

This tool is largely based on UK legislative requirements and the contents of ISO 9001, 14001, and OHSAS 18001.
